SAFA is looking for a Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) to be in charge of the upcoming Arts Elections!

In Accordance with the SAFA Constitution, some of the responsibilities of the Chief Electoral Officer are as follows:

9.2   Responsible for the general organization of the elections and shall ensure that the rules governing elections are respected by all.  The CEO may not volunteer for any campaign, be a candidate in the election or a member of the SAFA Executive Committee.

9.3   The CEO shall ensure that the positions available are advertised at least two (2) weeks before the nomination period begins.  Nomination forms should be available outside the main office of SAFA.


9.8   The Election campaign shall last at least two weeks, beginning on the day that nominations are approved, and ending the day that the results are announced.


9.9   The CEO shall present the Electoral Regulations to the Board of Directors for approval.


9.10  The CEO shall draw up a list of eligible voters, according to the information provided by the Registrar's office. All members of SAFA are eligible to vote.  The CEO shall advertise the elections in order to encourage voter turnout and ensure that the polling booths are accessible to all.The CEO shall appoint scrutineers to assist with the overseeing of the elections.

The position of the CEO looks great on a resume, and the position is compensated!

We are looking for a VP Finance from the month of January to the end of April.

The following is a description of the VP finance’s typical duties:

1. The Vice-President of Finance
1. The Vice-President of Finance shall be responsible for the management of the finances of SAFA.
2. The Vice-President of Finance shall be responsible for presenting financial reports to the Board of Directors at its monthly meetings.
3. The Vice-President of Finance shall oversee the budgets and staff of any business run by SAFA.
4. The Vice-President of Finance shall be responsible for the rental of SAFA lockers with the assistance of the Corporate Secretary.
5. The Vice-President of Finance shall act as auditor for Member Associations with the help of a Comptroller General.
6. The Vice-President of Finance shall have signing authority for all expenses of SAFA.
7. The Vice-President of Finance shall chair the Finance Committee.
8. The Vice-President of Finance shall commission an outside auditor for SAFA once a year.
9. Any member of SAFA is eligible for the office of Vice-President of Finance, provided that the member is at least eighteen (18) years of age and is able to communicate effectively in both English and French.
