Je suis un étudiant indigène en troisième année d'histoire et de sciences politiques et je fais partie du gouvernement étudiant depuis trois ans. Je me présente parce que je pense que les étudiants en arts ont besoin d'une voix forte pour les défendre. Mon programme est de développer les opportunités académiques à travers la Faculté des Arts, d'augmenter la visibilité des autochtones au sein de la SAFA, et de m'assurer que chaque étudiant de la Faculté des Arts puisse s'exprimer. I’m an Indigenous third year history and political science student and I’ve been on student government for three years. I’m running because I think that Arts students need a strong voice to advocate for them. My platform is growing academic opportunities across the Faculty of Arts, increasing Indigenous visibility on the SAFA, and ensuring that every student in the Faculty of Arts has a voice. Bonjour, je m'appelle Kassia Leung, je suis étudiante de deuxième année dans le programme de linguistique et psychologie ici à l'Université d'Ottawa. Je suis présentement candidate pour le poste de présidente de l'association des étudiants en linguistique, ADÉLSA. J'ai beaucoup d'expérience de travail en équipe à travers l'école et diverses expériences de bénévolat et j'ai également été représentante de la 11e/12e année au secondaire. J'ai acquis beaucoup d’expérience dans la planification et l'organisation d'événements ainsi que dans la participation à des réunions sur des événements importantes. Si élu, je vais me battre pour la justice, la transparence et l'égalité pour nos étudiants. Je créerai un passage de représentation au sein du département d'administration, qui supervise notre administration mais n'offre pas la possibilité aux étudiants de s’exprimer directement. Je continuerai de se battre pour nos besoins. Je prévois également d'intégrer les commentaires et les idées des étudiants en linguistique pour créer de nouveaux événements amusants aussi. Mon dossier illustre quelqu’un qui est passionnée, autonome et avocate pour nous tous. Je me soucie de vos intérêts et de votre voix. Venez partager vos idées, je les réaliserai. Hello, my name is Kassia Leung, I am currently a second-year student in the full french linguistics and psychology program here at the University of Ottawa. I am currently running for the president position for the linguistics student association, ADELSA. I have a lot of experience working in a team setting through school and various volunteering experiences and I was also grade 11/12 representative in high school. I have gained extensive experience in planning and organizing events along with attending meetings on important matters. If elected, I will fight for justice, transparency, and equality for our student body. I will create a channel of student representation on our department board, which supervises our administration but does not offer an opportunity for student voices to be heard directly. I will continue the fight for our needs. I also plan to incorporate feedback and ideas from linguistics students to create new and exciting events. My record exemplifies passionate, self-driven advocacy on behalf of all of us. I care about your interests and your voice. Come share your ideas, and I will make them happen. Bonjour à toutes et à tous! Pour ma dernière année en Lettres françaises, j’ai décidé de me présenter au poste de présidence de l’AÉDF (Association étudiante du Département de français) pour l’année scolaire 2023-2024. J’ai envie de dynamiser encore plus notre association pour que nous puissions rencontrer et vivre de belles expériences les un.e.s avec les autres. J’ai déjà eu la chance de faire partie de l’AÉDF comme V-P aux affaires universitaires lors de ma première année à l’université. J’en connais donc très bien le fonctionnement. J’ai également fait partie de l’AÉFA (Association étudiante de la Faculté des arts) comme V-P aux affaires francophones, ce qui m’a permis de m’immerger à 110% dans la politique étudiante et dans la défense des droits des francophones au sein de la Faculté. Je me considère pleinement outillée pour vous représenter comme présidente et ainsi faire de 2023-2024 une année scolaire pleine de projets enrichissants ! Mon nom est Nicolas Michaud (il), je suis un étudiant de 3e année en Histoire et Science Politique et je me présente comme candidat pour le poste de président de l’Association des Étudiants en Histoire (AÉHSA). Durant les deux dernières années, j’ai participé au sein de l’association en tant que Vice-Président des Affaires Francophones. À travers cette expérience, j’ai acquis de nombreuses connaissances en lien avec les associations étudiantes et j’ai développé des nouvelles idées sur les directions que la nôtre devrait prendre. Entre autres, j’aimerais établir une banque de manuels scolaires, qui contiendrait des livres pour différentes classes que les étudiants pourront emprunter au lieu de dépenser des centaines de dollars par année. Sur le plan social, j’aimerais élargir le nombre d’évènements sociaux que nous organisons, notamment en augmentant les collaborations avec les autres clubs et associations. Puis, j’aimerais aussi innover sur la manière dont nous communiquons aux étudiants en Histoire afin de les atteindres de manière plus efficaces et moins intrusives. My name is Nicolas Michaud (he/him), I'm a 3rd year student in History and Political Science and I am running for the position of President of the History Students Association (AÉHSA). For the past two years, I have participated in the association as the Vice President of Francophone Affairs. Through this experience, I have gained a lot of knowledge about student associations and have developed new ideas about the directions our association should take. Among other things, I would like to establish a textbook bank, which would contain books for different classes that students can borrow instead of spending hundreds of dollars a year on them. On the social plan, I would like to expand the number of social events we host, including increasing collaborations with other clubs and associations. Then, I would also like to innovate the way we communicate to History students in order to reach them in a more effective and less intrusive way. Je m'appelle Madeline Wood, je suis dans ma troisième année d'études environnementales avec une mineure en géomatique, et je suis candidate au poste de présidente de GAIA pour 2023-2024. Si vous avez assisté à un événement GAIA ou avez dépassé les heures de bureau, vous me reconnaîtrez peut-être comme l'ancien vice-président des finances. Mon expérience passée sur GAIA, aidant à planifier des événements, à organiser des dossiers et des finances, et à assurer la liaison avec le comité, m'a bien équipé pour le poste de président cette année. Quand je ne participe pas à des activités liées à GAIA, vous pouvez me trouver en train de faire de l'escalade, de pratiquer mes compétences en secourisme avec les premiers intervenants sur le campus ou de faire des longueurs dans la piscine ! L'équipe GAIA a été très enrichissante pour moi et rencontrer tout le monde dans le département a rendu mon expérience universitaire significative, et j'ai hâte de continuer à créer une communauté étudiante solide l'année prochaine. Hey everyone! My name is Madeline Wood, I am in my third year of Environmental Studies with a minor in Geomatics, and I am running for the position of President on GAIA for 2023-2024. If you have attended a GAIA event or have dopped by office hours, you might recognize me as the previous VP Finance. My past experience on GAIA helping to plan and run events, organize files and finances, and liaison with the committee has well equipped me for the Presidency position this year. When I’m not going GAIA related activities you can find me rock climbing, practising my first-aid skills with the on-campus first responders, or doing laps in the pool! The GAIA team has been very rewarding for me and getting to meet everyone in the department has made my university experience meaningful, and I look forward to continuing to create a strong student community next year. My name is Sophia Aiello. The position I am applying to is the President of the Undergraduate English Students Association (UESA). For promoting, I hope to create some posters that will fulfill the requirements and be sent once they are finalized. Additionally, I will be posting on my Instagram and snap chat to vote for me as President for the UESA. For my Instagram, the account handle is @sophiavaiello and I will convert it to public and hopefully follow the CEO of elections so I can also convey and communicate better about possible campaigning. This is my first campaign I have ever done running in an election and I would be very grateful to receive some help about what to do and some possible tactics that work for a campaigner that is introverted and is also very busy with school and working two jobs.

Hi everyone! My name is Haya Sonawala (she/her) and I'm a third-year student in English with a minor in theatre and a microprogram in creative writing. I'm running to be your UESA president in the 2023-2024 school year. As president, I would strive to create a team and environment in which every student feels safe, welcome, and well represented. Over the past two years, I have been UESA's VP Equity and UESA'S VP University Affairs, and in these roles I've created a scholarship that rewards students working outside of the white canon, I've begun the process for a book drive to get books to students at affordable prices, and ensures that we run many small events in conjunction with the Yule ball. In my role as president, I would like to focus on three main objectives: 1. Creating a safe and inclusive space for everyone 2. Fostering a more effective team environment that is accessible to the student body 3. Ensuring that everyone feels heard and knows that they have the UESA as an outlet and a resource for any issues they encounter in their academic careers

Je suis présentement candidate au poste de directrice des affaires administratives de l'Association des étudiants de premier cycle en philosophie! J'ai occupé plusieurs postes (Finances, Affaires administratives et universitaires) au sein de cette association étudiante pendant plusieurs années et le département de philosophie de cette université me tient à cœur. Je crois qu'il faut créer des opportunités pour que chacun se sente inclus dans la communauté que cette association a bâtie et cela inclut le développement de différentes avenues pour que les étudiants s'impliquent, qu'ils soient sociaux ou académiques. Je suis très reconnaissant de l'implication que j'ai eue jusqu'à présent et si je suis réélu à l'AÉNP, je promets de continuer à représenter tous les étudiants en philosophie et éthique avec une grande passion et un soin personnel.

I am currently running for the Director of Administrative Affairs position for the Undergraduate Philosophy Students’ Association! I have been involved in various positions (including Finance, University, and Administrative Affairs) within this student association for several years and this university’s Philosophy Department is very near and dear to my heart. I believe in creating opportunities for everyone to feel included in the community this association has been building and that includes developing various different avenues for students to get involved, whether social or academic.
